Over the last few weeks, as the Covid-19 outbreak has developed, we have all been forced to make changes, both in our personal and work lives.
As a business we have made some significant changes to how we operate and we are grateful to all Evora site and office personnel along with our supply partners for the way in which they have responded and adapted to this extraordinary situation.
Guidance from the Government has been clear that construction is a vital element of the UK economy that will be critical in our recovery from this crisis – and that where we can operate sites in accordance with the Construction Leadership Council’s Standard Operating Procedures, we should do so.
It is now clear that restrictions around social distancing are likely to be in place for many months – and so construction must find a way to continue to work safely. If we do not, we will be unable to support the UK’s economic recovery.
The health, safety and wellbeing of everyone who works on our sites is our first priority. We have made it clear that we would not operate our construction projects unless we were satisfied that it was safe to do so.
During April we have been awarded a number of new projects to replace contracts that completed during February, March and April.
The new project awards are
Kirkbymoorside York – Construction of new Coop Retail Store.
Fieldhead GP Surgery Horsforth – Consultation room expansion and remodelling of GP surgery.
Windmill GP Surgery Leeds – Design & build new GP practice and Pharmacy.
Despite the challenging working arrangements for all companies we still seeing a healthy number of tender opportunities coming through particularly in the education sector which is always buoyant at this time of year and it’s encouraging that some schools are accelerating projects at this time too.
We look forward to catching up with you all over the coming weeks and wish you all good health & stay safe.
