Askham Bryan College, Heifer Shed
This project comprised of a new heifer shed founded on a cut and fill site following the demolition of the old silage clamp that was crushed on site with the compacted material used in this reclaimed land project.
The structure was constructed using galvanised steel members, precast concrete wall panels and Yorkshire boarding cladding.
A new effluent underground storage facility was also installed as part of the project with the filtered water pumped into a slurry pit.
The project was carried out within a live farm environment and educational facility that was open twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week with the access route shared with other College, Farm traffic and Milk Tankers.
The area to the west of the project remained as animal grazing land throughout the works.
